Boodles London Dry Gin
Looking for a gift to impress even the classiest of gin drinkers? Send your recipients a bottle of proper Boodles London Dry Gin. Boodles Gin is catered towards and branded for distinguished gentleman and gentlewomen. It’s a clean gin with a piney juniper palate. Herbal notes of sage and nutmeg make this gin a wonderful addition to a home bar. What sets Boodles London Dry apart from modern gins is that citrus botanicals are not used in distillation, although it is recommended to garnish Boodles cocktails with a lime or lemon slice to complement. Boodles says its gin is “refined as a silver service tray, suitable for any proper drink…”. Whip up a Gin & Tonic, Tom Collins or use Boodles in a dry Martini.
The Boodles Salted Negroni is spectacular cocktail as well: Shake 1.5 oz. Boodles Gin, 3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth, 3/4 oz. This Gin is distilled using British wheat and is then redistilled in a Carter Head copper still, to infuse the botanicals steadily into the spirit. Boodles uses a vacuum still that operates under extreme pressure, resulting in slower evaporation of the alcohol and a stronger focus on the botanical flavors. A variety of nine herbs and botanicals are infused, including juniper, rosemary, sage, coriander, caraway, nutmeg, among others. These botanicals give the gin a mellow, well-rounded juniper-forward palate. According to the brand, creating this elegant gin takes “labor and patience”.
In 2015, the brand introduced Boodles Mulberry Gin; the first mulberry gin in the U.S. It’s delightful served warm or cool depending on the season. England’s well known mulberry trees were the inspiration for this flavored gin.
