Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne Picnic Carrier
Piper-Heidsieck Brut Champagne Picnic Carrier comes in an insulated red carrier bag with two branded champagne flutes. Piper has an alcohol level of 12.0% with its grape composition of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvee Brut is a classic, structured, full-bodied and bursting with fruit Champagne. The blend is composed of a majority of Pinots Noirs, incorporating more than 100 crus from around the Champagne region and Pinots Meuniers from the Grande et Petite Montagne de Reims region.
Piper-Heidsieck Brut has a clear, golden Champagne robe par excellence on the eye followed by delicate and fine bubbles resulting from an extended maturation time. On the nose Fresh fruit dominates, with pear and russet apple, and a few hints of citrus fruits such as star fruit. The finish evokes fresh grapes, livened with hints of freshness and aniseed. On the palate A structured, full-bodied and franc wine. A juicy, fleshy pear and golden grape texture. The finish narrows to citrus and grapefruit flavours. A wine with great fruit, a good mouthfeel and a harmonious balance.
Reviews
Wine Spectator 92 points – #95 TOP 100 WINES OF 2019 – Lithe and vibrant, this graceful Champagne is driven by well-knit, racy acidity, carrying flavors of ripe black cherry, grated ginger, toast point and mineral on the satiny mousse. Drink now through 2022. 222,500 cases made, 29,000 cases imported..December/2019
Wine Enthusiast 91 points – The quality of this nonvintage wine from Piper-Hedsieck is a sign of the increasing quality of the range as a whole. It’s a wine that hovers comfortably between freshness and maturity, between a soft dosage and crisp fresh apples. This bottling is ready to drink..Roger Voss, December/2015
Wine Advocate 90 points – Piper-Heidsieck’s white-golden colored, NV Cuvee Brut has a clear, fresh, fine and aromatic bouquet with sweet cherry but also brioche and chalky aromas. The attack on the palate is fresh and delicate, and the charming finish reveals brioche and whole grain as well as aromatic fruit flavors. This is a medium-bodied, stimulatingly fresh and well-structured blend with gorgeous fruit and a clean, persistent finish. I’d like to brunch with it every Sunday morning until the night comes. Jeb Dunnuck 91 points – The NV Cuvee Brut is a bright, fresh effort from this estate. Offering up plenty of yeasty notes, stone fruits, a kiss of brioche and subtle minerality, it’s clean and lively on the palate, with bright acidity, and a classic dry finish. If you’re looking for a high-quality sparker that will deliver the goods over the coming 4-5 years, you can’t go wrong here..March/2018
Decanter 90 points – WORLD WINE AWARDS 2018 (SILVER): Grilled nuts, lemon curd and tarte tatin nose. A bit heavy but classic champagne with biscuity and nutty characters and some ripe apple fruit. Lots of commercial appeal..May/2018
