D’Usse Cognac XO
It received 96 points during the Ultimate beverage Challenge. Fragrances of golden raisins and apple cider are the meticulous workings of Maitre de Chai Michel Casavecchia. He hand-selected the finest eaux-de-vie from the Chateau de Cognac cellars to create the exquisite blend for DUsse XO Cognac. Eaux-de-vie is the French term for spirits and literally translates to “water of life.” It is considered a brandy and is produced by fermentation and double distillation usually of grapes. For most English-speaking countries, an eaux-de-vie is a distilled beverage produced from any other fruit but grapes. Presenting: D’Usse Cognac XO.
Aged for more than 10 years in French oak barrels, D’Usse XO has rich flavors of ripe blackberries and apricots with dimensions of dark chocolate and walnuts. Round notes of dried figs, dates, almonds, and toasted baking spices are predated by a finish of light tobacco. The flavor of DUsse XO Cognac is exceptionally balanced and complex. D’Usse is crafted at the prestigious Château de Cognac which is one of the oldest cognac houses in France. The house has a reputable 200-year legacy for blending some of the finest spirits in the world.
D’Usse Cognac XO
Since the Château is in close proximity to the River Charente, the house received two climates in the cellar: a humid climate that gives the eaux-de-vies floral & fruity notes and a dry climate that result in woody & spicy flavors. Once these are blended, you will encounter the bold and luscious flavors Dusse has to offer. Casavecchia has been crafting eaux-de-vies for over 20 years. If you are curious about the metal symbol on the bottle, it is known as the Cross of Lorraine. It was used as an emblem of courage, honor, and perseverance throughout French history for those who marched boldly. Today is can be represented as a symbol of moving forward in luxury cognacs.
